1. Road: 68th Street
Cherry Valley Avenue to Thornapple River Drive
July 12 - October 3, 2021
Closed to through traffic; detour posted
Contractor: Kentwood Excavating
Projected Cost: $1,250,000
About: Reconstruction to a two-lane, all-season road standard. Work includes tree removal, HMA removal, concrete pavement removal, storm sewer work, culvert extension, concrete curb and gutter work, HMA paving, pavement marking and restoration.
2. Road: Alden Nash Avenue
Fulton Street to Foreman Street
July 12 - July 26, 2021
Closed to through traffic; detour posted
Contractor: Superior Asphalt
Projected Cost: $353,600
About: This project is a crush & shape improvement project, which is a structural pavement treatment that grinds, or crushes, the existing asphalt and 1-2” of underlying gravel. The material is then regraded, compacted and covered with multiple layers of paver-placed hot asphalt.
