Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer recently issued rules and recommendations for Michigan residents to follow when gathering together to celebrate the Thanksgiving holidays, according to Michigan Capitol Confidential.
The rules are intended to contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus during a time when people are likely to gather in large groups to celebrate the upcoming holidays.
Rules for gatherings include: get together outside if possible, since the risk of spreading the virus is 20 times higher in indoor environments than outdoors; limit gatherings to no more than two households and ten people; wash hands regularly and do not share eating utensils; wear a mask and only take it off to eat or drink; maintain social distancing and keep 6 feet of distance from others as much as you can; keep your voice down if possible, since high volume can multiply COVID-19 transmission by up to 30 times.
