State Representative Ann Bollin, a Republican from Brighton Township, issued a statement following the recent Consensus Revenue Estimating Conference. The conference projected an additional $588.7 million in revenue for the state government this year and an extra $1.2 billion for the fiscal year 2025-26.

Bollin emphasized that "Michigan families deserve a government that prioritizes their needs — not one that wastes their hard-earned money." She highlighted the focus of the Republican-led House on addressing critical issues such as repairing neglected local roads.

The representative cautioned against viewing increased revenue projections as an opportunity for reckless spending. "We have an opportunity to invest in critical infrastructure and essential services while also ensuring that extra revenue is returned to taxpayers through meaningful tax relief," she stated, stressing the importance of financial responsibility.

Bollin criticized past fiscal policies, stating, "The governor spent the last two years squandering a $9 billion surplus on corporate handouts, pork projects, and unnecessary government expansions." She assured constituents that her colleagues are committed to eliminating wasteful spending and enhancing accountability in Lansing.
