State Rep. Ann Bollin | Michigan House Republicans
State Representative Ann Bollin from Brighton Township has issued a statement following Governor Whitmer's Road Ahead address. Rep. Bollin expressed concerns about the governor's approach to managing Michigan's infrastructure and financial resources.
"Gov. Whitmer paints a picture of a prosperous future for Michigan, but the truth is, the road behind us has been anything but smooth," Bollin stated. She criticized the governor for spending billions on corporate incentives that do not address the needs of Michigan families and workers. According to Bollin, these investments lack accountability, leaving taxpayers with expenses while corporations benefit without fulfilling job promises.
Bollin highlighted that House Republicans intend to curb what she described as reckless spending by proposing a plan focused on repairing local and county roads without increasing taxes. "We’ve put forward a comprehensive plan that focuses on fixing and upgrading our local and county roads without raising taxes," she explained. The plan aims to reduce government waste and allocate more funds towards essential road repairs.
She concluded by emphasizing the need for accountability and practical solutions: "The road ahead doesn’t have to be as bumpy as the one we’ve traveled." With Republican leadership in the House, Bollin is optimistic about making significant improvements in Michigan’s infrastructure.
