State Representative Ann Bollin, a Republican from Brighton Township, has achieved a remarkable feat by completing her fifth consecutive year in office with a perfect attendance record. Throughout 2023, Bollin participated in all 586 roll call votes held in the Michigan House of Representatives.

In a statement, Bollin expressed her commitment to representing the voices of her constituents. She said, "Perfect attendance is something I always strive for because it's my duty to ensure the voices of the people I represent are heard in every decision that is made."

Bollin was first elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in 2018. She represents the 49th House District, which includes Brighton, Walled Lake, Wixom, and a portion of Novi, as well as several townships in Livingston and Oakland counties.

As the new legislative term begins in 2024, Bollin is serving on the House Appropriations Committee, which handles the state budget. Additionally, she holds the position of Republican vice chair on the General Government Appropriations subcommittee and is a member of the Department of Health and Human Services and Corrections subcommittees.

The 2024 legislative session commenced today, with the House convening for the first time since two House Democrats were elected to other positions. Currently, the House is evenly divided between 54 Republicans and 54 Democrats until special elections are held in April to fill the vacant seats.

Looking ahead to the year's agenda, Representative Bollin expressed her hope for greater cooperation and a willingness to listen to representatives from all areas of the state. She emphasized her focus on eliminating fraud and abuse of tax dollars in the state budget process. Bollin stated, "After the governor spent our entire $9 billion surplus in 2023, it's important to make sure that future budgets respect taxpayers and use their hard-earned tax dollars in a sustainable manner."
