Motorists may notice a new stop sign when leaving the Elementary School parking lot at Fifth St. and Williams St. Please remember that, according to MCL 257.671 and MCL 257.652, motorists must fully stop at a stop sign and prior to entering a road from a private drive. You also must yield the right of way to vehicles and/or pedestrians in the intersection or approaching the intersection.
Vehicles that do not stop when leaving the school may be pulled over and drivers may be issued a citation. The police department will be keeping a closer eye on this area at pick-up/drop-off times.
