Saginaw City Council will conduct a Single Subject Special Meeting at 5:30pm on Monday, September 26. The meeting will be held at City Hall in City Council Chambers, room 205.
The subject for the Special Meeting will be to discuss the expenditure of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for housing and blight elimination. Discussion and public input for the Single Subject Special Meeting will be limited to this topic. Guidehouse staff members will be on hand to facilitate the discussion with City Council. A regular City Council Meeting will follow at 6:30pm on September 26 at the conclusion of the Special Meeting. Both meetings will be broadcast on SGTV, Channel 191, and streamed live on the City’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/CityofSaginawMI.
Mayor Brenda F. Moore commented on the meeting, "I am excited that City Council has found a point of consensus to begin our discussion on the allocation of ARPA funds. We all agree that a portion of ARPA funds must be used to revitalize our neighborhoods, attract new residents, and promote and protect home ownership in the City of Saginaw. This is a great place to begin. We will limit our discussion to housing and blight elimination for this meeting, but this is the first of many Special Meetings on the expenditure of ARPA funds. We will work our way through each expenditure area at future meetings.”
The public is invited to attend this Single Subject Special Meeting. To speak on housing or blight elimination during the public input portion of the Special Meeting, citizens must contact the City Clerk’s Office, 1315 S. Washington Room 102 (989) 759-1480, prior to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2022.
