Job Fair Open House

The City of Saginaw would like to invite everyone to attend its job fair and open house on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at City Hall, 1315 S. Washington Avenue. The event is free and registration is not required.

The City has a large number of open positions and is actively hiring for multiple departments. During the event, job seekers can apply for one of the current job openings, get help completing an online application, talk with Human Resources representatives and discover the benefits of a career with the City of Saginaw. A current list of City of Saginaw job openings is available on our website at governmentjobs.com.

Applicants will also be able to speak with representatives from city departments to gain a better understanding of the various positions at the city. For those applicants who are hired into a city position that requires a commercial driver’s license, the city now offers Class A CDL Training to provide those employees with the necessary training to obtain a Class A CDL. Interested applicants can attend the job fair on June 15 to learn more about this exciting career opportunity.

"This is going to be an informative, interactive event, and we’re excited to discuss all the opportunities that are available here at the City of Saginaw,” said Dennis Jordan, Assistant City Manager and Human Resources Director. “We‘ll be here at City Hall to discuss our open positions, but we also want to meet with our residents, answer their questions, and provide greater insight into the workings of municipal government.”

City of Saginaw Press Release

City of Saginaw department representatives will be on hand with informational displays and hands-on activities, including a touch-a-truck area with vehicles from the Streets, Police, and Fire Departments. Citizens can sit in the driver’s seat of one of our city vehicles and talk with staff members about the many services provided by the city.

City Manager Tim Morales commented on the event, “We invite everyone to attend this event. Even if someone is not actively seeking a job at this time, this is a perfect opportunity to come and learn more about the many functions of the city. Our hope is that everyone who attends will walk away with a greater understanding of the services provided by the city, and perhaps an even greater interest in working for the city.”

Job seekers are encouraged to create a profile on governmentjobs.com before attending the job fair. Those who are applying at the job fair should have the following information available:

  • Education: dates and school names
  • Work experience (past 10 years): dates, employer names, company addresses, job duties, supervisors’ names, phone numbers
