City of Rockford issued the following announcement on Nov 5.
We will officially begin taking the leaf vacuum around starting Monday November 8. Crews typically begin in the northeast side of city and work their way around until they have covered the entire city. It can take crews several days to make it through the entire city. We will continue to vacuum leaves as long as the weather cooperates.
Please do not rake leaves into the street as they can clog storm drains and disrupt proper water flow. Leaves should be placed in a row in the parkway as close to curb as possible. Please keep any other debris out of the leaf piles. This includes sticks, rocks, logs, etc. Anything like this will be picked up by the vacuum and cause serious damage to unit.
