City of Saginaw issued the following announcement on Oct 8.
On October 16th, both the Saginaw Bay Symphony Orchestra and the Saginaw Spirit are hosting their season openers...and the city is throwing a block party to celebrate! Covenant HealthCare presents the Riverfront Saginaw Spirit & Symphony Block Party!
Below you'll find a schedule of events and locations. Please note that the Dow Event Center's parking ramp is under construction and unable to be used, so attached to this post is a graphic of alternative parking locations.
Dow Event Center: 5:30pm to End of Game
- Red Room opens at 5:30pm with the 90 Minute Power Play food and beverage specials
- Spirit West Division Championship Banner Raising at 7:00pm
- Puck drop at 7:15pm

The Temple Theatre: 8:00pm to 10pm
- Season opener: Best of John Williams

Huntington Event Park: 4:30pm to 7:30pm
- Inflatables set up for families and kids
- Face painting
- Magician show on stage by Carrie Rostollan and Proximity Illusions 5PM to 6PM

- SVRC Marketplace Food Vendors offering samples (for full meals, head to the food trucks in Morley Plaza)
- Restrooms available
Corner of Johnson and Washington (street closed!): 4:30pm to 8:00pm and 9:00pm to 10:15pm
- Live music: Joshua James Sharrard Pre-game
- Firetruck & SWAT vehicle on display (if available)
- City of Saginaw Government Smokehouse
- Street chalk available to create your own art

Morley Plaza: 4:30pm to 8:00pm

- A complimentary beverage by showing Spirit or Symphony ticket at Jake's Old City Grill, Retro Rocks, Liquid Lounge, Hamilton St. Pub, J.B. Meinberg/Woody O'Briens, Saginaw Old Town Junction and Old Town Distillery.
