Michael Porath, Jeff Beemer, and Jeff Lomber all get to serve another term on the Putnam Township Planning Commission.
At a recent meeting, members of the commission voted to re-elect all three board members to their current leadership positions. Porath will continue to serve as chairman of the commission, while Beemer will be vice-chairman. Lomber will stay on as the commission’s secretary.
No other candidates decided to run for those positions. Beemer was also re-elected to the Land Division Committee as well.
It was noted that under Putnam Township guidelines, commission members are term-limited to three years. Whereas, other township leadership positions, such as the position of township supervisor, do not have such restrictions.
WHMI reports that John Enos, who is a planning consultant for Putnam Township, said that he recommended that the term-limit issue should be revisited. He also noted that it was “unusual” that members of the Planning Commission are term-limited.
