Looking for a pet before 2019 ends? The Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters adoption event returns this Friday at all Michigan Humane Society adoption centers. Adoption fees will be heavily reduced, and for the first time ever, Empty the Shelters will be two days, December 13-14!
What is Empty the Shelters?
Empty the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption event sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation. Pet adoption fees will be reduced Friday and Saturday only as follows:
Dogs and kittens (5 months and under): $25
Adult cats and other domestics: $10
Senior cats (7 years and older): FEES WAIVED
The Bissell Pet Foundation will cover the remaining costs.
Which Michigan Humane Society locations are participating?
All Michigan Humane Society adoption centers will be participating in Empty the Shelters. Locations include our four main shelters in Detroit, Rochester Hills, Westland and Howell. Offsite locations such as Petco in Sterling Heights will also participate. You can view a full list of locations and shelter hours on our Locations and Hours page.
What animals are eligible for Empty the Shelters?
All animals who are available to adopt at the Michigan Humane Society are eligible for the special Empty the Shelters fees December 13-14 during normal business hours.
