ASIANS FOR LIBERTY: Detroit Lions open as 3.5-point favorites for Week 12 road game in Washington

Detroit

Asians for liberty issued the following announcement on Nov 19.

For an indication of how rough it’s currently going in Washington this season, the Detroit Lions opened as 3.5-point favorites for their upcoming road trip in Week 12.

Detroit (3-6-1) has lost three in a row, including six of its last seven games while Washington is 1-9 with an interim head coach and rookie starting quarterback. First-round rookie Dwayne Haskins will start the rest of the season for Washington per coach Bill Callahan. The former Ohio State quarterback has completed 46 of 79 passes for 498 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions.

Bovada.lv has the Lions as 3.5-point favorites for the Week 12 matchup with an over/under total of 42.5 points. NJ Consensus, PointsBet, DraftKings and Bet365 all also have Detroit as 3.5-point favorites. The Action Network reports 91% of bets placed as of Tuesday morning are going toward Detroit.

The Lions lost to the Cowboys 35-27 last week at Ford Field. Detroit’s defense was torched for more than 500 yards of offense while Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 444 yards and three touchdowns. Jeff Driskel filled in for Matthew Stafford for the second straight week, completing 15 of 26 passes for 209 yards with two touchdowns. He added 51 yards and a score on the ground, but the defense surrendered 500-plus yards and it wasn’t enough.

Washington got doubled up 34-17 by the lowly New York Jets. Haskins completed 19 of 35 passes for 214 yards with two touchdowns and one interception while getting sacked six times. After struggling for weeks, Jets quarterback Sam Darnold completed 19 of 30 passes for 293 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.

Pro Football Focus has Washington graded as having the 27th ranked offense and 23rd ranked defense. The Lions enter Week 12 with the 11th highest-graded offense and 28th ranked defense per the same metrics. The Lions are 1-3-1 on the road this season while Washington is 0-5 at home. Washington’s lone win this season came in a 17-16 game down in Miami more than a month ago.
