Kathleen Krill New Principal

A2

Hello Pirate Family,

Pinckney Community Schools is pleased to announce that Kathleen Krill has been named the new principal of Country Elementary School as her appointment was approved at last night's Board of Education meeting. She replaces Mrs. Ruth Badalucco, who moved to the principal position at Navigator Upper Elementary.

Mrs. Krill has served the students of Pinckney Community Schools for the past 21 years, with a majority of that time teaching ELA, History, Journalism and also serving as the Yearbook Advisor at the high school. This past school year, Mrs. Krill supported our PCS staff as Literacy Coach, working with teachers across the district and also became an instructor for our Reaching Higher Leadership Program. During the 2020-21 school year, she successfully completed her administrative internship with PCS, which also included the coordination of our now successful Kids Read Now K-5 summer reading program.

Upon acceptance of her new position, Mrs. Krill shared, “I am excited for the opportunity to guide and support the staff, students, and families of Country Elementary. I believe in the district's focus on literacy and will continue to guide and support the staff as they set students up for success in elementary school and beyond. I have dedicated my career to Pinckney Community Schools and will continue to champion the students and to create a culture that helps students to become their best selves. I am deeply honored to be trusted with this position and will do my best to make sure the staff, students, and families of Country Elementary feel safe, supported and cared for.”

We are extremely excited that Mrs. Krill will be joining our leadership team as the new principal of Country Elementary. Many of us here at PCS have had the honor of working with Kathleen in some capacity over the years and we know how much she cares about our students, district and community and she will no doubt continue supporting our students, parents and staff members as principal as her positive attitude, sincere love for our students and conviction in making sure every student learns will inevitably be felt by those she will be leading and supporting.

Congratulations to Mrs. Krill and we can't wait for the students and parents of Country Elementary to get the opportunity to meet her, which will be pretty soon as August is just around the corner!

Have a fantastic weekend and GO PIRATES!!
