City of Rockford recently issued the following announcement.
Garden Club Park is the City’s most used and most versatile park, located at the edge of downtown between the White Pine Trail and the Rogue River. This Park is used by all ages for picnics, strolling by the river and events like our annual Blues Concert Series, Yoga in the Park, Festivals, and so much more.
Through generous donations from the Rockford Lions Club, Rockford Rotary Club, and private donations we were able to build a new stage over the summer. This stage was part of the Garden Club Park master plan.
If the parks millage passes, we would be able to get a bond to finish the Garden Club Park master plan. Improvements included in that plan are an ice rink and Garden Park Plaza that includes a large gas fireplace and additional seating creating a permanent year-round gathering space.
We would also like to build a new ADA compliant kayak/canoe launch as well as smaller and more immediate improvements including adding seating options and better lighting in the park.
