FARLEY HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: PCS Covid Preparedness Plan Board Approval

Zz

FARLEY HILL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL issued the following announcement.

I hope that this finds you and your families doing well. We are a couple of weeks away from the start of our new school year, and it is time to share some opening information with you. This note contains information about:

PCS Covid Preparedness Plan Board Approval

Enrollment Verification

Placement Information

Beginning and End of Day Procedures

Last Thursday, the PCS Board of Education approved the PCS Covid Preparedness Plan.  Within this plan, the Board of Education approved a choice for parents to attend either in person or virtual.  The Pirate Virtual Academy (PVA) will be taught by PCS teachers.  These students may transition to in person learning at the end of the first semester.  For families participating in person school this fall, they will attend 4 day in person (Monday through Thursday) and Friday virtual.

Enrollment Verification for 2020-21 school is open

Re-enrollment for 20-21 is now available. If you had a student in Pinckney Community Schools last year and the student is continuing (online or face-to-face), please complete the re-enrollment. This is a chance to verify your contact information, complete permission forms, etc. You can complete the task in a few ways:

Using the NEW MOBILE APP on a mobile device (https://flc.pinckneypirates.org/mistar-parent-connect-app)

Visiting MISTAR on your computer (https://sisweb.resa.net/Pinckney/ParentPortal)

Placement Information

Student placement information with their teacher’s welcome letter will be sent out electronically a week before school starts.  The district provides all necessary school supplies.  Some families may like to purchase their own materials.  A list of recommended items organized by grade levels will be posted on our website soon.

Beginning of Day

Parent Drop Off:  Parents will use the playground blacktop to drop off students starting at 8:43 am.  Staff will be helping students get to their classrooms. Students will make their way to their class. During phase 4, guests are not allowed in the building.  Students will enter school wearing masks.

Bus Drop off:  Starting at 8:43 am, buses will release students.  During phase 4, each bus will dismiss one at a time at the main entrance.  Staff members will meet groups of students at their bus and walk them into the building to meet their teacher.  Students will enter school wearing masks.

End of Day

Parent/Guardian Pick-up:  During phase 4 visitors are not permitted in the building.  Students will meet their adult at the playground blacktop curb.  Each car picking up student(s) will be given a window sign indicating your child’s name and teacher.  As cars arrive for pick up they will line up at the curb.  Staff will bring your child out through our recess doors to meet their adult. If you are planning to pick up your child on a regular basis, please complete a request for a car sign through this link:

Bus:  Classes will be dismissed individually to load buses at the end of day.  Students will stay in the classroom until their class is dismissed to walk out to the bus.

If you have an alternative bus drop off location (other than home address), please complete this Transportation Request Form

There is definitely a lot more information that will be coming your way as we get closer to the start of the school year. I will be sending weekly updates (and sometimes more than that!)
