A hybrid plan has been approved for the upcoming school year by the Huron Valley Schools district.
A meeting was held Aug. 10, which approved a plan for in-person and remote learning, WHMI 93.5FM reported. Most families have said they prefer a combination of both types of learning for their children this year.
Pre-K through 7th grade students will begin the school year with the hybrid method. They will attend two days of school in person and three days of school online, as long as Michigan remains in Phase 4 of reopening.
Grades 8 through 12 will begin the school year with two weeks of distance learning. After the initial two weeks, the students will transition to the hybrid schedule.
All students in Huron Valley Schools have the option of choosing full-time remote learning.
With the hybrid method, only half of the student population will be learning in-person at a time, while the other half will be learning remotely. Officials are working to send detailed information to parents about the plan.
