Livingston County United Way (LCUW) has created a relief fund to help residents impacted by the new coronavirus pandemic.

According to LCUW’s website, the Community COVID-19 Relief Fund will enable local nonprofit agencies to provide individuals with basic needs such as food, housing and utilities.

“LCUW and our partners are committed to ensuring our county’s most at-risk families have the support they need,” LCUW stated in news release. “Our primary focus is for those that receive free and reduced lunches, and families and seniors that may need food support quickly and safely.”

While grant applications from local agencies are currently being accepted, LCUW is seeking donations for the relief fund. Standby volunteers are also being sought.

“As things continue to change daily, the next weeks will uncover additional needs,” LCUW said. “That is why it so important that funds and volunteers are available to support these community organizations with boots on the ground, working tirelessly to help our residents in Livingston County.”
