Livingston County Government issued the following announcement on March 23.
NOTICE!!
The Statewide Tornado Drill scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2020 @ 1 PM will now be a "SILENT" drill. We are not going to set off sirens, or push a message to your phone this year, but we'd like you to participate.
HOW?? We are asking the public to set an alarm on your phone or at your house for the above designated time. When the alarm goes off, talk to your family about your severe weather / tornado plan. Talk about sheltering options in your home, or if you were out in public. If able - practice your plan!
If you are home with the kids, there are many ways to turn the drill into some family bonding time. Think "quiz bowl" or "draw your plan" or some online research regarding severe weather safety.
The regularly scheduled monthly tornado siren tests, the first Saturday in April through the first Saturday in October will still take place. The first Livingston County siren test is scheduled for Saturday, April 4th at noon.
