State Rep. Ann Bollin (R-Brighton Township) is taking a stand against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in a fight she sees as being on behalf of some of the state’s most vulnerable.
Bollin recently voted with House members in an effort to reverse some of Whitmer’s cuts in the areas of education and public safety. Another measure sponsored by Bollin calls for the restoration of $600,000 in a grant program that strives to assist people fighting to overcome drug addictions.
“I’ve heard from many people in our community who are directly affected by the governor’s cuts and I’ve listened to their concerns,” Bollin said in a Michigan House Republican press release. “It’s time to put the 2019 budget behind us and move forward.”

Elements of Bollin’s plan also seek to restore tuition to a grant program, help veterans get needed services at the county level and restore millions to a program geared to increase public safety patrols.
The House-approved measures, which came with no new taxes, now advances to the Senate for further debate.
